Timmins-James Bay MP Could Run For Federal NDP Leadership

There’s a lot of speculation right now around whether or not Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus will take a shot at the Federal NDP leadership. Angus says he has a lot to think about when it comes to whether or not he’s going to run.

The National Post had reported that Angus was planning on making the announcement before Christmas, however Angus says that’s still to be determined. He says while he’s honoured to be receiving lots of calls regarding this, he has yet to make a final decision.

When asked if the Northeast would still remain a priority the MP said he feels that Northerns, like everyone else in the country deserves a voice. Angus says he’s never considered running before, but will have to look at all of the options and make a decision based on what’s best for the party, Northern Ontario, and the entire country.

The NDP have a leadership vote set for October of next year and so far no one has stepped up.
