Northeastern police units are reminding residents of some holiday shopping tips. Police say there will be an increase of shoppers during the holiday season and this provides more opportunities for thieves.
The OPP says while shopping in high traffic areas to avoid carrying large amounts of cash on you. They also say to not leave anything you bought unattended, always protect your pin and to be sure to lock your vehicle once everything’s inside.
Other safety tips include to never leave your purse or wallet unattended, don’t overload yourself with parcels while walking back to your vehicle and to place everything out of sight. The OPP says crime prevention is everyone’s business.
