College Boreal is looking for new ways to drive up enrollment at the school. The President of the college and 20 other board members held their annual board retreat in Timmins over the weekend which included a tour of the Goldcorp Dome Mine.
Among the list of challenges discussed was the need to attract more students to the North. Northern College is a familiar name here in Northern Ontario, but down South not as many people know about it. The Timmins Press reports that College Boreal will be reaching out further than it ever has in Southern Ontario to help drive up enrollment.
The Timmins Press says reports from the college show students who go to school in Northern Ontario often stay in the North.
