It’s Crime Prevention Week in the province and this year the theme is planning together for safer communities.
The anti-crime initiative encourages local police to work together with members of the community to address concerns, create strategies and ultimately decrease crime in the province.
The OPP would like to remind residents of some of the community safety programs which include Crime Prevention through Environmental Design, SafeGuard Ontario, the OPP KIDS Program and Lock it or Lose it to name a few.
As a part of Crime Prevention week the James Bay Detachments of the OPP will be working closely with the public to resolve any situations and prevent them from escalating to help create safer, healthier communities.
