With funding provided from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund and FedNor, the Northeastern Ontario Community Network (NeCN) is developing a Snowmobiling Tourism Destination Plan for the region. The plan is to strengthen and grow tourism by establishing the worlds best snowmobile destination right here in Northern Ontario.
Chair of the NeCN, Sylvie Fontaine says they are trying to strengthen and grow tourism in our area as a direct result of snowmobiling.
The upcoming Snowmobile Summit at the Polar Bear Habitat in Cochrane will welcome riders, businesses, communities, government representatives and any regional stake holders who will be participating.
The event will be taking place Thursday from 1:00pm to 8:00pm and Friday from 8:00am until 2:30pm.
