Police Reminding Trick-Or-Treaters to be Safe this Halloween

Halloween is this coming Monday and the OPP is providing some safety tips for trick-or-treaters.

Staff Sergeant Baldassare Nuccio with the James Bay Detachment says to avoid wearing a mask that might restrict your vision. Nuccio says it’s important that kids cross the road at designated cross walks and always wait until they get home before trying any candy.

Nuccio says sometimes police do receive reports of vandalism and smashed pumpkins. However, he adds in some cases vandalism is un-intentional as groups of people might be crossing lawns and accidentally step on something. Police will be out patrolling that night to make sure everyone is being safe.

The OPP wants to ensure everyone has a safe and happy Halloween.
