Scotiabank Ride for Diabetes

The Scotiabank Ride for Diabetes event gets underway tomorrow and for a donation of at least $50, you can pie one of their managers in the face.

The event is to help raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

Customer Service Supervisor for Scotiabank in Kapuskasing, Guylaine Tremblay, says they do this event every year and look to raise as much money as possible. Tremblay says for every dollar that’s donated, the bank will match it and last year almost $6,000 was raised.

The Scotiabank Ride for Diabetes event gets started tomorrow and Tremblay says they’ve added a few new features. She says there will be carnival activities all day, a stationary bike to ride, a bake sale and of course for a minimum $50 donation you can pie one of the banks managers in the face. Tremblay says they’ve already had some people stop by the bank to make donations and a few pies have been purchased.
