In a matter of a couple of hours volunteers were able to collect 5,200 lbs of food and $900 for the Food Bank.

You could hear sirens all throughout town as local hockey organizations teamed up with the Fire Department and Rotary Club to go door-to-door collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations.

The numbers are up from last year’s drive where 4,500 lbs of food was donated by members of the community.

These food drives help stock the shelves at the Food Bank before the holiday season.
