Special Art Exhibit in Cochrane Honors Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women

A special art exhibit is on this week at the Cochrane Public Library.

A group of local women in Cochrane have created an art project that will be on display at the Cochrane Public Library until thanksgiving to remember missing and murdered indigenous women.

Health Outreach worker for the Ininew Friendship Centre, Doreen Pichette says the display is called “Gone But Not Forgotten”. She says originally there was a vigil planned at the Healing Garden this afternoon but it was rescheduled to the Lake Commando Peninsula for 6:00pm tonight.

Pichette went on to say that everyone is welcome to attend the event, which will be accompanied by a performance from a native drum troop.
