Food Drive Raises Over $8,400 and 1,700 Pounds of Food

The annual Moose FM and Kapuskasing Rotary Club Food Drive has come to an end. From 6:00am to 6:00pm on Monday and Tuesday we were out in the Circle collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations. This year over $8,400 and upwards of 1,700 pounds of food were collected.

Although it rained Monday morning and high winds almost blew over the tents a couple of times, that didn’t stop volunteers from flagging down cars and collecting donations. The Food Bank relies on the drive to stock up for Thanksgiving and the holiday season.

A big thank you goes out to all of the Rotarians who volunteered their time, the students who came out to help collect donations, Tim Hortons for supplying coffee and muffins both mornings, Bernie and Linda Poisson from Bernie’s Car Wash and Bidule Restaurant for lending us their trailer, and to everyone who came out to make donations and show support.
