Northern Ontario School of Medicine Partners Up with Health Force Ontario to Improve Health Care in Northern Ontario

The goal is to offer better health care to patients living in the North.

The Northern Ontario School of Medicine has signed a three year partnership with Health Force Ontario to increase the amount of health care professionals in Northern Ontario.

At the forefront of the plan, health care in high need areas including Indigenous, Francophone, remote and rural communities. The plan is to ensure all patients in Northern Ontario have access to the same health care as everyone else in the province.

Through the partnership the NOSM and HFO will help match communities with specific needs to learners who are interested in working in those fields.

A group of medical students from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine are currently working at the Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing for the next several months.
