Expect Additional Traffic Enforcement Over the Long Weekend

Ahead of the long weekend the OPP is reminding the public to drive safe on highways, waterways, trails and Provincial Parks.

From the second to the fifth it’s the OPP’s Labour Day traffic campaign. The main focus for the long weekend will be the “Big 4” which include distracted driving, seat belts, obeying the speed limit and impaired driving.

Inspector Michael Pilon with the James Bay Detachment says to expect police to be out in full force this weekend.

The OPP say the irresponsible behaviour of one driver can negatively impact the lives of many.

Over the long weekend officers will also be out on the waterways ensuring people are being safe and responsible.
