Ontario is making the largest investment in public infrastructure in the province’s history. Over the next 12 years about $160-billion is being invested into public infrastructure. The funding will help create 110,000 jobs across the province each year.

Through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund $2.8-million dollars in funding has been announced for Kapuskasing. Of that funding $2-million dollars will be used to upgrade storm and sanitary systems as well as repairs on Nipigon and Ottawa Street. The province will also provide more than $800,000 over the next three years to upgrade and expand local community infrastructure.

Sudbury MPP and Minister of Energy, Glenn Thibeault, was in Kapuskasing yesterday to deliver the funding announcement and says it will have a direct impact on local communities in our region.
