Take Back the Night is an international event that looks to end violence against women. Domestic Violence Co-Ordinator for Cochrane North, Chantal Ouellette, says no money is being raised at the event, but they’re looking to raise as much community awareness as possible.
To change things up a bit, last year instead of holding a march they decided to have a glow in the dark marathon. Ouellette says that across the country the event is usually held on the same night so that everyone is walking together.
Take Back the Night gets underway Friday, September 16th at 7:30pm in Riverside Park. Everyone is welcome to come out and attend.
