The Cochrane Board of Trade is hosting a Denim & Diamonds Fundraiser for Chimo. Chimo is the town mascot but he’s very old and in need of some repairs. The money raised will be going towards replacing the bear at the entrance of the town.
The plan is to replace it with a larger hand carved bear with 1,000 year old cedar from BC. The new bear would be designed by Dan Ritchie a former resident of Cochrane.
The Denim & Diamonds event is taking place October 1st at the Cochrane Curling Club.
Tickets are $40 dollars in advance or $50 at the door if there’s any left.
