It’s not February yet, but Groundhog Day is almost here. The Journee Groundhog Day in Fauquier is taking place this Saturday and kicks off at 9:00 in the morning.
There will be inflatable games for kids, face painting, cotton candy, free games, a cash bar, fire prevention and other activities from the Fauquier Strickland Fire Department. From 11:30am until 1:30pm lunch will be served and the live entertainment starts at noon. Other activities include canoe rides, washer and horseshoe competitions and pizza with fireworks to end the night.
For those without transportation, there will be a free shuttle bus service after the event going to Moonbeam, Remi Lake and Kapuskasing. The event brings people from all across the northeast to the town of Fauquier.
