Around $20,000 was raised for the YMCA’s Strong Kids program as a part of the fifth annual Hollinger Golf Club Mixed Championship in Timmins. Nice weather over the long weekend made for some good golfing. The club says teams came all the way from Peterborough, Kapuskasing, Hearst and Cochrane to attend this year’s championship. In the past five years of having this event, close to $100,000 has been raised. The Hollinger Golf Club says events like this are helping the YMCA get its message out to the community. The YMCA Strong Kids Program helps give kids the opportunity to reach their full potential and live healthier, happier lives.
