Heat Warning in Effect

The second heat warning in as many weeks has been issued in Northeastern Ontario. Temperatures are expected to sit around 30 degrees with the humidex making it feel more like 40. Watch out for symptoms of heat related illnesses which include dizziness, nausea or vomiting. Other symptoms include headaches, extreme thirst and decreased urination. If you experience any of these symptoms immediately move to a cool place and drink lots of water.

Although there is a chance of showers little relief from the heat is expected. Health risks are greater for older adults, young children, anyone who works outside or those without access to air conditioning.

The heat warning is expected to come to an end on Friday.
