Fighting for Broadband Investments

Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus is calling out northern Liberal MP’s to fight for broadband investments. He says FedNor has been walking away from investing into the technology, which is for things like better cell phone coverage and high speed internet in places that are still on dial up.

Angus says that means the north needs the federal and provincial investments to make sure we can get the connectivity, to allow the communities to participate in the world economy. The issue stems from FedNor denying all applications for broadband investments, claiming a new program will instead be overseeing the projects. However, that new program comes with a two-year waiting list.
