New Funding for Indigenous Children

Over $380-million dollars in new funding has been announced by the federal government to ensure equal health care for First Nation children. The executive director of the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada  Cindy Blackstock was encouraged to see the government deliver funding. She is unwilling to endorse the move until she better understood how the plan works. Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing MP Carol Hughes is also concerned about the lack of detail.

The new funding would help provide medical and mental health services to Indigenous children across the country.
