The NOSM is hosting the International Conference on Community Engaged Medical Education until June 25th.
The conference focuses on increasing access to rural and remote healthcare, improving community engaged health education and better understanding and connecting with Indigenous communities.
Over 300 guests of the conference will be converging in north eastern Ontario to tackle these problems and share ideas and strategies.
The Indigenous Research Gathering is also a major component of the conference which brings in healthcare professionals and Indigenous partners from all over northern Ontario.
Last month four third-year students from NOSM finished their residencies at the Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing.
