Seven Collisions with Moose in Span of Five Days Prompts OPP to Issue Warning

A string of collisions involving moose over a five-day period is prompting OPP in the north to increase its efforts in public safety.

This comes as wildlife fencing may be coming to stretches of Highway 11 and 101 in north eastern Ontario.

Police are asking the public to keep their eyes peeled, especially at night time on the shoulders as they look for water and vegetation.

The OPP says speed is often a factor and keeping within the speed limit factors into your reaction time and ability to keep control if you do come across a moose.

Keeping an eye on the shoulders is invaluable and an accessory like a light bar is always a good investment in safety.
