St. Pat’s Recognized by Ophea Healthy School Program

Both students and faculty of St. Patrick’s Elementary in Kapuskasing have been hard at work over the past year improving metal health and well-being.

Now, the school is being rewarded by the Ophea Healthy School Program, obtaining a silver certification.

It’s one of only 37 other schools in Ontario to receive the honour.

Principal Gretchen Morgan says it’s thanks to partnerships within the community such as the Porcupine Health Unit, Kapuskasing Healthy Kids and the OPP.

The school has run workshops on suicide awareness and prevention, a mental health and wellness symposium, athletic programs and is most known for its anti-bullying campaigns.
