A bill regulating how fentanyl is dispensed in Ontario should be in place well before the fall.
The proposed law is in its last stage which is getting final public comments.
Rules regulating the use of fentanyl were introduced by Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli.
He says northern Ontario saw quite a few deaths from illegal fentanyl use but since introducing the proposed Bill, there’s been a major turnaround.
The deadline for public comments is July 18th and assuming there are no significant changes, the Bill will go into effect shortly after that.
