Cochrane High School students are paying it forward to other high school students in Attawapiskat.
The students are preparing what they’re calling ‘Hope Boxes’ which will be sent to grade seven to 12 students in the remote First Nation community.
Next week students will be putting the boxes together, with Air Creebec offering to take the boxes to Attawapiskat for free.
The community and local businesses have raised over $2,000 in donations, which will be akin to the ‘Operation: Christmas Child’ boxes sent out by students last year.
