Angus Disappointed in Feds Denying Extension of Exploration Tax Credit

A pitch from Charlie Angus to extend the mineral exploration tax credit from one year to five was shot down by the Trudeau Liberals.

The MP for Timmins-James Bay says the government doesn’t understand the importance of exploration for northern communities, and a one-year extension isn’t enough.

Angus pitched the idea to extend it to five years, saying it will send a strong message to a struggling industry that the federal government understands the need to maintain a healthy exploration community.

Angus says supporting an extension of the mineral exploration tax credit isn’t rocket science.
