The Centre de sante is teaming up with Eastview Chevrolet and the local Independent Grocers for a Transportation and Grocery Aid Program in Kapuskasing.
The pilot program is also government funded and integrally run by volunteers.
The official launch is set for June 15th.
Volunteer Coordinator with the Centre de sante, Tanis Egan says the program is set up primarily to assist the elderly.

Egan says the program will handle everything from transportation to volunteers helping with picking, loading and off-loading groceries for those enrolled in the program.
She says even though the official launch date is in June, the pilot program’s services are currently available to the elderly through the CDSSAB and the Centre de sante.
