The Northern Ontario School of Medicine is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
One of the school’s primary commitments is both training and keeping doctors and other healthcare professionals in the north.
Students of the school serve their residency terms in many communities across the north, such as Constance Lake, Hearst, Cochrane and Kapuskasing.
NOSM says it currently has around 150 doctors working in northern Ontario which translates to about 180,000 patients in the various fields.
Recently, NOSM has renewed its commitment to supplying students and staff to hospitals and clinics in the region with its five-year strategic plan.
