Hair dressers and other volunteers will be giving up their time as part of the second annual Hair-a-thon charity.

Visitors can come to KDHS in Kapuksasing on June 4th from 9:00am until 5:00pm for haircuts at the Hair-a-thon.

All proceeds are going to help a local family whose seven-year-old son has muscular dystrophy.

One of the event’s organizers, Pascal Fraser, says the staff and volunteers are always wowed by the generosity of the community.

He says the money will go towards installing special equipment to improve the child’s mobility in his family’s home.

Many local businesses have also pitched in to donate gift cards and silent auction items.

Last year volunteers raised nearly $15,000 for a family in need and Fraser hopes to continue the annual event.
