Colour Run Promoting Healthier Lifestyles Kicks off Sunday

Kapuskasing’s downtown will be closed off Sunday to make way for a Healthy Kids Community Challenge special event.

The I’m Living it in Colour race spans five kilometres through town.

Participants will be walking, running and biking along the course as they stop at stations where they will be doused in bright colours.

Rhodson Odai is a grade ten student from KDHS who also helped organize the event; he says he jumped at the opportunity to help out.

Amarphreet Sing is a grade eight student at Diamond Jubilee and also one of the student organizers for the event.

She says there were some unique challenges in getting elementary students interested in the event.

From Healthy Kids Kapuskasing, Breanna Plourde says the main goal of the event is to promote healthier, more active life styles in children and their families.
