Nearly $2-million dollars will be going to northern Ontario’s export sector.
The announcement came from FedNor yesterday as northern mayors met with Canada’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Navdeep Bains and northern MPs Paul Lefebvre and Marc Serre in Sudbury.
The funding will be channelled through the Northern Ontario Exports Program and Ontario’s North Economic Development Corporation.
The funding will also go towards northern Ontario’s presence at Minexpo International, the largest mining conference in the world.
This comes after FedNor announced on Tuesday over $5-million dollars is up for grabs as part of its next phase of infrastructure funding.
