A Bill to create Safe Texting Zones across Ontario has passed second reading at Queens Park.

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli proposed the Bill with the goal of making highways safer.

Fedeli says distracted driving is the number one killer on Ontario highways.

The proposed legislation would create designated texting zones where people can stop and text, make or take cell phone calls.

Fedeli says the only infrastructure that`s needed is highway signs telling drivers that a texting zone is coming up.
