ONE Board Tackling Low Graduation Rates

The ONE school board is introducing some new strategies to combat its lowest graduation rates in the province.

Trustee Wayne Major says he’s curious regarding what makes northern boards different and southern boards similar.

He’s advocating for greater communication between boards to address issues, adding the Algoma public board’s graduation rates have increased significantly this year.

The District School Board Ontario North East will be cracking down on student attendance, focusing on the evaluations of students, revising the role of its guidance department and asking for monthly reports from student success teachers.
