Northern Big Bike Rallies See Big Turn Outs

Heart and stroke research is benefitting greatly thanks to fundraisers held across the north in the Big Bike Rally.

The event, held by the Heart and Stroke Foundation, comes to the north every two years and sees teams of around 30 people hitting the street to help raise money and awareness.

The Coordinator for Timmins and Area, Linda Horn says Timmins, Smooth Rock Falls, New Liskeard and Kapuskasing raised over $25,000 in total this year.

The weather cooperated for most of the outdoor events held earlier this month.

New Liskeard: $7,643.70

Timmins: $11,617.15

Smooth Rock Falls: $3,377.50

Kapuskasing: $4,221.05
