The Kapuskasing Food Bank will now in the hands of the town’s Rotary Club.
Previously, the food bank was run by the Kinsmen Club of Kapuskasing, a volunteer group of five members who are retiring from philanthropy this year.
From the Kinsmen, Wayne Major says the Rotary Club is already involved in the annual food drive every year, so it was an easy decision to hand of the reins to them.
It’s unclear if any other duties will be handed over to the Rotary Club, such as the Nalin Mehta Santa Clause Fund.
The Rotary Club of Kapuskasing was recently honoured by the town for 50 years of service in the community.
