The New Democrat Health Critic is asking the province to take some responsibility for cuts to hospitals.
France Gelinas , who is also the MPP for Nickel Belt, says northern Ontario has been hit hard, and she is calling on the government to stop the cuts.
Gelinas says for four straight years, hospital budgets have been frozen.
The NDP Health Critic says frontline workers have been laid off and beds have been closed across the north.
Health Minister Eric Hoskins says the province is increasing funding by over 50 per cent, and they are building new hospitals to keep up with an expanding population.
