The Kapuskasing Rotary Club is being honoured by the town of Kapuskasing, its mayor and Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson for 50 years of service in the community.
Rotary is a worldwide organization run out of grass-roots clubs like the one in Kapuskasing.
It’s flag is flying high in front of the Civic Centre this week.
Former and current presidents, governors and members came together on Saturday night to share memories, celebrate and even do some fund raising in the process.

Since the club’s creation in Kapuskasing, it’s raised around $1.3 million for the small northern community.
Kapuskasing’s Mayor Allan Spacek stressed how important volunteer organizations are to the community as he spoke at the anniversary.
