Support to Alberta Wildfire Relief Coming from Kapuskasing

A trailer packed with donations from Kapuskasing is on its way to help in the wildfire relief efforts for northern Alberta.

On Friday morning Jim Rathbone made a Facebook post asking if anyone had a trailer for rent, in order to collect donations for victims of the wildfires which burned through Fort McMurray.

The status was shared over 300 times.

Before noon rolled around, Eastview Chevrolet and Bernie’s Carwash had found and paid for the trailer, by 4:00pm that trailer was one quarter of the way filled with donations.

By Saturday morning the trailer was completely filled with non-perishable food items, clothing, baby products and other items, including hundreds of dollars in donations.

Rathbone says the town of Kap never ceases to amaze him when it comes to supporting great causes.

At the time of this story Rathbone has just crossed the border into Manitoba.
