Porcupine Health Unit Running Workshop on Child Seat Safety

Our local health unit will be hosting a Car Seat Safety Blitz in Kapuskasing this month.

The Porcupine Health Unit says vehicle crashes are the leading cause of injury and death in children, with a high percentage of those crashes happening on local roads, in broad daylight and often in familiar areas.

Last year’s blitz saw a steady stream of drivers stopping in to learn more about improving child safety in their vehicles.

At which time 93% of drivers had at least one installation mistake, most commonly having to do with the seat being secured the vehicle.

The workshop is free and will be held at the Kapuskasing Firehall on May 14th from 10:00am until 2:00pm on Brunelle Street North.
