Nearly $4,000 has been raised by local McDonald’s locations in the area.

It’s all part of McHappy Day where every dollar from a big mac, hot beverage and happy meal went to the Ronald McDonald House Foundation.

Volunteers worked in the kitchens and with staff over the day-long event to pitch in.

The Kapuskasing locations raised $2660 along with Hearst bringing in $1220.

The RMHC provides accommodations to families whose children are seeking medical care and treatment.

It has 14 houses and 13 hospital rooms across Canada.
