The modernization of Kapuskasing’s emergency and fire services won’t be moving forward until the town has the public’s feedback.
Kapuskasing’s CAO Yves Labelle says a public meeting is set to be scheduled soon with the Master Fire Plan being available online this week.
Labelle says residents should be interested is because depending on what plan is implementing, taxes could go up and it affects the safety of the whole town.
He says it’s why public feedback is so important.
Kapuskasing has one of the only full-time fire fighting units in the region.
Dillon Consulting worked for over a year on the proposal.
It was headed up by Steve Hurlow, a former 30-year veteran fire fighter.
