Hughes: Headway Made in Budget for First Nations, but not Enough

The NDP MP for Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing says First Nations have been short-changed in the federal budget.

Carol Hughes says while the budget contains some good news for Aboriginal people, there are also shortfalls.

As examples she says education and child welfare have a combined shortfall of 260-million dollars.

Hughes says this is not what First Nations were promised during last year’s election campaign.

Hughes adds it seems Trudeau was prepared to say whatever it took in order to get elected.
