Kapuskasing town council is set to meet on Monday with the next budget to likely be reviewed.

Water rates and taxes may go up slightly as a result of the version of the budget tabled at the last meeting.

The budget meeting also covered a possible commitment to the city of Sudbury for a PET scanner.

The piece of equipment would cut travel time greatly for those seeking cancer diagnosis and treatment.

That resolution is before many towns in the Northeast, including Cochrane which will be hosting its council meeting on April 12th.

Council is also expected to approve the start date for the new pay-and-display parking meters.

Kapuskasing council has now moved its start time to 6:00pm with its closed portion beginning at 5:30pm.
