Thirty-something local hockey teams are hitting the ice for a great cause in Kapuskasing.

The Kap Year End Classic is set to kick off this weekend as part of Kap Gives Back which donates to local charities and organizations.

Chair for Kap Gives Back, Doctor Claude Boucher says a lot goes into something this big, from the volunteers, to the teams, to the town and to the local businesses which make significant contributions every year.

Boucher says teams from as far away as Timmins and Cochrane will be in the tournament this weekend.

The puck drops at 6:00pm for the first series of games tonight.
