The Opposition parties claim last week’s federal budget makes no specific mention of the Ring of Fire.
But one of the companies at the site says elements in the budget will help develop the chromite site.
KWG says the federal Liberals are putting up money for meaningful consultations with First Nations affected by things like mining projects.
KWG also says the feds are renewing the mineral tax credit for junior mining exploration companies.
Also, federal government laboratories are partnering with the mining sector to develop cleaner technologies to develop mines.
