Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing MP Carol Hughes is helping students get better acquainted with politics.

It’s part of the Forum for Young Canadians programs.

Hughes spent time with Frederic  Deibel from Espanola, who got to spend a week in Ottawa studying politics and public affairs in action.

Hughes says the Forum is especially important for kids in smaller communities, who may not have the option to discuss these topics with their peers.

The forum welcomes students aged 15 to 19, to give them a feel for how Ottawa works.
