The Kapuskasing Sno-Rovers say grooming operations have ceased and the OFSC trails in the area are now closed.
The Rovers say the trails in the area are in the process of having signage, gates and postings removed.
The OFSC says continuing to ride ungroomed trails as the thaw begins to move in could be hazardous and a danger to snowmobilers.
Many trails across the Northeast are in a limited status; with Hearst, Cochrane and Timmins area trails mostly open.
