Kapuskasing has received word from its water systems evaluation, with a score of 100 per cent.

This means the town has scored perfect on its evaluation for the last five years.

CAO for the town of Kapuskasing, Yves Labelle says it’s something he’s particularly proud of.

Everything from system stability to overall water quality is assessed.

In 2006 the town began making significant changes to its systems which has now led it to having some of the best tap water in the Northeast.

Labelle says before the new systems were in place residents had to have water softeners with hardness around 230-240, with the current system in place it’s down to 80-90.
