Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is demanding the Wynne Liberals backtrack on proposed changes to senior’s drug benefits.

As of August 1st, the eligibility for the low-income seniors benefit will go from just over 16-grand to just over 19 grand.

It will also increase for couples from 24-thousand to 32. Fedeli says over 90 per cent of Ontario seniors will not benefit from these changes.

He says the finance committee is holding hearings on the budget bill next week, and it is an opportunity for all Ontarians to make their voices heard on the issue.

This could affect a great deal of northerners as the region has a large older population demographic.
