An area doctor is being honoured with a national award.

Dr. Rob Anderson, from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, has been given an award of merit from the Canadian Association for Medical Education.

Anderson is an Associate Professor and a program director at the medical school.

The school’s dean, Dr. Roger Strasser, says the prestigious award recognizes Anderson’s achievements.

There are currently two residency positions and four third-year students from NOSM working out of the Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing.
